Smartphone have become our daily companion in a wide variety of situations, and in each one, we produce digital footprints that provide information about ourselves. This everyday data reflects our everyday experience and behavior, which is why we want to use this data for research. Working closely together, we, the interdisciplinary PhoneStudy team, contribute to research using state-of-the-art smartphone tracking methods and the highest privacy and transparency standards. With our PhoneStudy research app, we integrate research into everyday life and thus establish the smartphone as a mobile and privacy-friendly research laboratory.

Who are we
We are a small group of scientists from the departments of Psychology, Media Informatics and Statistical Learning & Data Science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU).
Publications
We prepare our research work on the topic of smartphone use as scientific publications.
